Summary |
This paper describes numerical simulation and behaviour analysis of heavy-duty crane ship in the conditions of cargo drop from main hooks. The assessment of numerical simulation results and their comparison versus the data obtained as per the procedure prescribed by the Rules of Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping has shown a deviation of ~10% between them. The method suggested in this paper enables dynamic calculations of crane ship hull under time-variable external loads and assess its motions in terms of greenwatering and capsizing hazard. This analysis confirms the necessity of further studies on crane ship dynamics in the scenario of cargo drop from main hooks. |
