Summary

 
This paper suggests a new method of low-cycle fatigue calculation taking into account reduction of limit plastic strains under constrained deformation, cyclic damageability of material based on Smith-Watson-Topper theory and averaging of stressed state in d dimension of structural element. Finite-element method is used to assess service life of an aluminium-alloy structure. Calculation results for service life have been compared versus experimental data, and acceptable convergence of results has been obtained.
