Summary

 
Methods for linearizing the mathematical description of a two-winding squirrel-cage induction motor. The small variations method is applied to assess the motor stability based on the obtained linearized model. The principle of quadratic linearization is clarified. According to this principle an initial nonlinear system is converted to the canonical form of Brunovsky, and then it is linearized by substitution of state variables.
