This paper discusses a method of interference generation by means of MIMO technology and orthogonal space-time block coding suggested by S. Alamouti. Unlike the interferences obtained through conventional methods, i.e. by means of local sources, the interference generated as per this method is much harder to suppress by means of spatial filters that form “zero” signature diagrams in the direction of interference source. Still, this method requires simultaneous emission of modulated band interference from several sources in different places. The advantage this method is the possibility to obtain an equivalent interference generated by a group of sources distributed in space, but these sources much smaller in size and can be installed on one carrier. To enhance the efficiency of interference emission and to use the spectrum more uniformly, it would be practicable to modify Alamouti algorithm so as to enable random bit stream transmission and four-position phase modulation: once it is implemented, Alamouti algorithm will be capable of delivering a local noise interference for submarine sonar. This paper presents simulation results for this interference for both single point and a group of points, and also estimates the efficiency of its suppression by adaptive compensator of sonar interference.
