Summary |
This paper provides linear formulation and solution to the problem of stressed-deformed state (SDS) and stability of toroidal-cylindrical shells affected by internal (inside the toroid) and external (at the surface of cylinder) uniform hydrostatic pressure. The peculiarities of SDS and buckling dependent on the ratio between pressure and geometric parameters of the toroid were identified. The paper also analyses strength and stability, as well as provides comparative weight assessment for different designs. |
