Summary |
The paper contains analysis of buckling failure modes for polymer composite structures. Highly accurate FEM-based models were obtained, which allowed numerical simulation of linear and non-linear strains. Typical forms of ultimate strength failures were found for the hull members made of polymeric composites. The data obtained were used to plot loading curves as “compression force versus longitudinal displacement of edges”. The paper suggests a method to simulate boundary conditions for 3D FEM-based models by means of introducing additional structural members. |
