Summary |
Parameters of interaction between propulsion pod and stock propeller are determined using so-called Taylor and bollard-pull approaches. The totality of the data obtained as per both approaches covers the entire range of the pod advance ratios. Interaction coefficients are used to calculate hydrodynamic parameters of the propulsion pod in case of propeller refit. Calculated hydrodynamic parameters of pod with refitted propeller are compared with the test data. Comparisons are made between predicted ship performance in case of propulsion pod outfit- ted with stock, selected and original propellers. |
