Summary

 
Object and purpose of research. This paper studies chargers/dischargers for batteries to outline the ways to improve their mass, size and performance.
Subject matter and methods.Analysis and comparative assessment of basic performance parameters for chargers/dischargers.
Main results. This paper suggests a design of charger/discharger with active rectifier and two cascades of back-to-back high-frequency inverters, each having its own transformer and rectifier.
Conclusion. The study demonstrates the possibility of a charger/discharger with enhanced mass, size and performance.
