Summary |
Object and purpose of research. Development of composite light hull structures and tail unit elements of submarines. Subject matter and methods. Russian and foreign approaches to development of the composite structures under consideration are generalized. Physical and mechanical properties of various polymer composite layers are analyzed and compared. Calculated static and dynamic response parameters are compared with experimental data obtained for a test structure to validate the results. Main results. The paper contains main results of an R&D project on development of composite light hull structures and tail unit elements of submarines. Performance of all structures are confirmed experimentally. Conclusion. Design and engineering documentation contains the essence of the project experience. Practical application of the obtained results would enable development of a series of pioneering composite structure solutions with a focus on submarine stealth. |
