Summary

 
Object and purpose of research. This paper investigates jack-up platforms to estimate the possibility of their dangerous nonlinear vibrations and identify structural and operational factors contributing to these vibrations in waves
Subject matter and methods.This work follows the methods of non-linear vibration theory, as well as numerical calculation methods for jack-up dynamics.
Main results. Numerical analysis of nonlinear vibration has shown that in certain operational conditions jack-ups under investigation may suffer dangerous vibrations, as well as identified the factors contributing to it.
Conclusion. The results of the research can be used for jack-up design optimization in terms of proper selection of structural members, as well as for operational safety evaluations of jack-ups.
