The paper provides the procedures for extrapolating model towing resistance values of displacement cargo ships with single air cavity at the bottom to the full scale. It investigates the cases of the ship moving in still water and in waves. For the ships with increased (extreme) block coefficients, the paper shows the specifics of flow separation effects at the stern. The paper also provides case studies for model data extrapolation of displacement ships with cavities.
