Object and purpose of research.Study of the possibility to apply Fourier spectroscopy method to obtain the data on the infrared spectrum composition and optical properties of the samples under investigation.
Subject matter and methodsThe method of Fourier spectroscopy applied in this study yields the data on the infrared spectrum composition and optical properties of the samples (ship paints) under investigation.
Main results.The paper suggests new materials and coatings for ship structures that reduce infrared signatures of ships.
Conclusion.Applicability of the optical train “Fourier spectrometer with two-beam Michelson interferometer” for the studies on ship coating samples has been confirmed.
