Summary

The paper compares different width characteristics of discrete signal-spectrum component versus the optimum band of analysis to discriminate the said component from the signal/noise blend. Numerical modeling of discrete components of various shapes is used to show that the optimum band of analysis should be less than half of the discrete component energy bandwidth to allow most vivid discrimination of this discrete component in signal/noise blend.
