Summary

 
Object and purpose of research. This paper discussed the most populsr types of reluctance motors, giving their mathematical description and deriving analytical expressions.
Subject matter and methods.This study is a review of the most common types of reluctance motors with comparison of their power parameters.
Main results. Based on the comparison of various reluctance motors in terms of their operational and power parameters, as well as in terms of their design peculiarities and manufacturing technology, this paper demonstrates that reluctance motors with anisotropic magnetic conductance of rotor are currently the best type of reluctance machines.
Conclusion. The paper suggests new rotor designs combining ease of manufacturing and high efficiency.
