Summary |
Object and purpose of research. Consideration of the integrated combat management system (ICMS) requirements for mobile tactical units equipped with high-tech surveillance, control and communication systems and engaged in network- centric operations based on the concept of limited decentralization and self-management of combat units.
Subject matter and methods. Utilization of advanced R&D solutions, expertise and practical knowledge to set up multi-functional integrated expert systems. Main results. A functionally integrated system is proposed to ensure centralized battle information management of dispersed surveillance (intelligence) assets, with quick adaptation of control and surveillance to changing battle environment for efficient performance of current combat tasks by tactical combat units. This solution can be described as an integrated combat management system (ICMS). Decision-making support features at all levels of this process enables ICMS to give unbiased data evaluations and use smart algorithms. Conclusion. ICMS will provide for efficient command and control environment for military units. Well trained military personnel with good technical and tactical skills and hand-on experience remains a substantial prerequisite for robust ISMS performance. |
