Summary

 
This research is focused on the design of ship door (hatch) actuator to guide the door through the specified pathway. The purpose is to engineer a shipboard door actuator for easy release of towed systems. The research study is based on the background knowledge of towed system arrangement and shipboard doors as well as spatial hinged units used for complex controlled movement in space. The methods of this study include calculations of kinematic and geometric parameters of the actuator and generation of its 3D model for computer. The main results are easier preparation for release of towed systems, a simple opening actuator capable to produce complicated movements.
