Summary

 
Object and purpose of research. This paper studies sprinkler geometry effect of water-fog fire-fighting systems upon their expansion angles. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sprinkler geometry upon jet expansion angle.
Subject matter and methods.This research was a computer-based simulation (in commercial ANSYS CFX package for engineering analysis) based on modern methods of computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
Main results. The study formulates basic rules in nozzle channel design so as to increase jet expansion angle.
Conclusion. The findings of this paper will make it possible to refine and improve sprinkler design methods for marine water-fog Fi-Fi systems.
