Summary |
Object and purpose of research. Consideration of heat exchange processes in attended spaces on board ships of various types.
Subject matter and methods. A ship compartment is represented by a heat model describing a system of bodies arranged in space and exchanging heat. Estimations of heat regime for the modelled compartment containing a heat source were confirmed experimentally by measuring the temperatures of heat radiating surfaces as well as air temperature. Main results. A set of thermal balance equations is solved to find the temperatures of heated surfaces and air temperature in the compartment. The total thermal balance of a person in the compartment with independent heat radiating sources is considered, including solar radiation penetrating the compartment. The amount of heat that a person in the compartment could receive is found. The thermal pattern obtained with a FLUKE thermal imager shows satisfactory agreement between measurements and calculations. Conclusion. Implementation of the project results will significantly improve ship’s crew comfort. |
