			Principal Research Scientist of Krylov State Research Centre. Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor, D.Sc. Laureate of prizes awarded by the USSR Council of Ministers and Russian Federation Government, laureate of A. N. Krylov Prize awarded by the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, laureate of L. I. Sedov Prize awarded by National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of RAS. Honored Shipbuilder. Author of over 20 inventions with some of these implemented to improve performance of surface ships and offshore structures. Oleg P. Orlov has been research supervisor and coordinator in a number of projects including icebreakers, ice class ships and a special-purpose vessel for disposal of liquid radioactive wastes from nuclear-powered ships
