The paper gives the grounds for a necessity to develop the methods for detection and identification of cavitation stages for propulsors and appendages. Processing sequence is suggested for propulsor cavitation stages detection and identification based on experiments performed in the cavitation tunnel of special propulsors. The suggested technology was implemented on the high speed vessel built by JSC Shipbuilding plant «Severnaya verf». The results of application are shown. It is also demonstrated that the suggested technology makes it possible to obtain reliable identification of both initial and well developed cavitation stages arising on the ship propulsors when she is underway using instrument measurements to define vibroacoustic characteristics.
