Offshore platforms operated on the Arctic and Far East shelf have considerable quantity of processing facilities for extraction, processing, storing and shipment of hydrocarbons and they are objects with high level of explosive and fire risk.
Life saving equipment installed on these offshore objects (life boats, rafts, life saving capsules and others) do not warrant, in full, urgent and safe evacuation of personnel and crew in ice conditions Besides, the life saving equipment have some lacks, including impossibility of independent move from emergency object on the water areas coated with hummocked or beaten ice. Creation of self-moving life saving equipment for personnel and crews of marine objects in ice conditions at extreme and emergency situations (explosion, fires, extreme hydrometeorological and ice conditions) is actual problem.
