Summary

 
The paper investigates the effect of bending-twisting coupling arising in monoclinic structures upon the sequence of static and dynamic buckling of a composite rectangular wing in a flow of an incompressible gas. It is shown that natural frequencies, critical speeds of flutter and wing divergence can be controlled by using non-classic effects occurring in anisotropic structures. For some designs of wing reinforcement, it was found that self-oscillations are possible at pre-flutter speeds.
