Summary

 
The current situation regarding the development of parametric control of ship’s hull surface was analyzed, the validity of analytical models to describe hull surface of icegoing ships was justified. The paper contains a description of analytical model designed for icegoing ship’s hull and the lines obtained by means of the model are compared with the lines of the real ships. Comparison results confirmed the applicability of the model. The author provided the example of optimization of research ship’s lines according to criterion of ice resistance in unbroken ice retaining the specified hydrostatic parameters. The potential application of parametrically controlled models of surface at the initial design stages of icegoing ships was reviewed.
