The software developed today is expected to meet enhanced versatility and expansion capacity equirements. Software-defined radio systems (SDR) in radio communication make it possible to dynamically add and update radio communication functions, in particular types of signal modulations without modification of the main application. Radio communication tools developed and produced in Omsk support SDR-based technologies. Shipboard communication systems developed on the basis of this hardware include so-called data processing centres (DPC), implementing SDR technologies. DPC software contains elements of the SCA specification used to build up SDR systems operated in the western countries. DPC support full software-driven processing of digital signals, the modules are interchangeable and the system’s components and installation requirements are described in XML files, signal processing is done using modular pipeline principles. The paper shares experience gained from the development of information management system for the integrated radio communication complex Uragan-N.
