Summary

 
A new method for calculation of forced vessel global vibration was developed allowing for hydrodynamic resistance forces to wave-induced and viscous vibration taking into account vessel structural features. Contribution of various hydrodynamic forces’ components into vessel global vibration damping was evaluated. Vessel operational speed effect on vibration resistance characteristics was analyzed, and it was demonstrated that wave-induced and viscous forces shall be considered when calculating forced vibration for vessels operating in transient-state and gliding conditions.
