Summary |
The paper presents a loading setup for specimens and formulas for estimation of mechanical characteristics by Kolsky method using split Hopkinson bar. An experimental rig for dynamic tests is described. The dynamic characteristics of stainless steel 08Х18Н10Т, titanium 3М, aluminum alloys 1561 & 1575 obtained with this method are presented. The strain rate effect on material properties within a relatively narrow range is examined. For this purpose 3М aluminum alloy specimens were tested at three strain rates: 800, 1100 and 1500 s-1. Averaged test data for each strain rate are presented. |
