Summary |
The paper provides experimental data regarding static and fatigue strength of samples made of layered “aluminium-steel” composites based on D32 steel and Type 1561 aluminium alloy with asymmetric arrangement of layers, as well as static and fatigue strength data for the joints involving these materials. It has been shown that failure stresses of this layered composite under static and cyclic tension do not depend much on thickness of the steel sheet. Static strength of cross-shaped I-beam joints involving layered composites is determined be the static strength of the aluminium-alloy sheet welded to them, whereas the fatigue strength is determined by the properties of welded connection between the aluminium layer of the composite and the aluminium-alloy sheet welded to it. |
