Summary

 
The paper discusses the results of experimental studies regarding fatigue strength of new weldable corrosion-resistant Al-Mg alloys, 1550М and 1565чМ. It also provides fatigue curves for base metal and welded joints for thicknesses of 10, 20 and 40 mm, as well as assesses the effect of thickness upon fatigue strength of samples. The assessment of the corrosive effect of environment (synthetic sea water) upon fatigue has been performed on 10-mm thick samples. It has been shown that in terms of fatigue strength these alloys are better than Alloy 1561 widely used in Russian shipbuilding.
