Summary

 
Object and purpose of research. Algorithm for assessing the strength of the icebreaker's hull in navigational accidents – grounding with subsequent shoaling and bottom rock hit due to rolling
Subject matter and methods.Finite element method, numerical integration of the Bonjean curve and rigid-plastic straining equations for bottom structures
Main results. This paper describes verification algorithms for global hull strength and local strength of bottom grillages of an ice breaker in case of grounding with subsequent drop in water level (shoaling), as well as calculates energy absorption capacity of bottom structures and maximum indentation depth of the underwater rock.
Conclusion. The algorithms presented in this paper make it possible to estimate damaged hull strength (during navigation accidents) at the design stage of the icebreaker.
