This paper presents mathematical simulation results obtained in Matlab Simulink for the relationship between transitory voltage deviation and boosting coefficient at different loading stages of various automatic excitation tuning systems for marine alternators. The paper discusses main excitation systems of marine alternators and presents a proven system for automatic excitation tuning of marine alternators with external boosting, outlining the new research methodology for relationship between transitory voltage deviation and boosting coefficient at different loading stages. This new methodology enables quantitative assessment of research results. Research results (figures and plots) became the basis for recommendations on external boosting in automatic excitation control systems of marine alternators.
