Summary

 
The paper provides the experimental study results for vibration mitigation of plates and shells by means of resonating plates installed on hull plating or stiffeners. It is shown that lightweight vibration dampers with relatively low losses of vibration energy can offer signifi- cant reduction of peak low-frequency vibrations in the vibration spectra.
