The paper presents a RANS-based method for calculating the forces of hydrodynamic drag that damp viscous and wave-related vibrations. It also estimates the contribution of various hydrodynamic force components into global vibration damping of the ship. The newly developed practical method allows approximate assessment of hydrodynamic drag forces and update the of the calculations regarding forced global vibration of fast and very fast ships.
