Object and purpose of research.Study of the ways to measure absolute gravity force at sea.
Subject matter and methodsThe studies were experimental.
Main results.The possibilities to measure absolute gravity force at sea have been studied. The concept was suggested for the intergrated marine gravimetric system, and the breadboard of this system has been developed. The paper discusses its design and operation principle. Test results for the breadboard system obtained at sea wave simulation test rig are provided.
Conclusion.The paper proves the measurements of absolute gravity force at a slightly wobbling foundation to be possible in principle. The accuracy of measurements at sea conditions using the integrated system could be ~0.1 mGal, which might, as this technology matures, considerably improve the quality of land surveying data for the areas of the Earth hard to access.
